Formula One Racing which is often referred to F1 Racing is considered the highest ranking open wheel racing in the world and is governed by the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile commonly known as the FIA. Formula One racing cars can reach blazing speeds of up to 360 km/h with the engine capable of handling 19,000 RPM.

The F1 Races typically take place on circuits called Grand Prix’s as well can also take place on closed street courses where streets in a particular city are closed to traffic. The United Kingdom is the highest producer of F1 Champions with 13 Championships. They have also seen the most Constructor’s Cups with a total of 32. What makes the Formula One Championship so special is that the races take place all over the world.

Over 55 Million people watch Formula One races live and is a huge attraction for sponsors and commercial interests. Drivers are also rewarded based on a appoint system which is as follows. If they finish 1st they are awarded 10 points, if they finish 2nd they get 8 points, Third gets 6 points 4th gets 5 points, 5th gets four points 6th gets 3 points, 7th gets 2 points and 8th gets 1 point.

Currently Michael Schumacher currently holds the record for winning the most driver championships with a total of seven and he drove his Formula One car for Ferrari one of the most successful constructors in the modern era.
